1. Spray Coating
Spray coating atomizes liquid coating into fine droplets and deposits them onto the substrate surface. It is widely used for furniture, wood panels, automotive refinish and shaped parts because it can cover complex geometries and deliver a smooth visual finish.
When spray coating works best
- Complex or three-dimensional workpieces where rollers cannot reach.

Hardener selection notes
Spray application mainly sets the physical window: it needs good atomization, flow and a workable pot life, which favours lower-viscosity, well-levelling grades. Within that window the chemistry is chosen by the coating system, not by the spray gun. For indoor wood and furniture, a fast-drying aromatic grade such as HDX-50BA (Solid 51±2%; NCO 7.8±0.5%; viscosity 1000±500 cps) suits fast through-dry and matte finishes; where lower viscosity and easier flow in acrylic-containing 2K systems are needed, HDX-960E (viscosity 110±50 cps) atomizes and levels more easily. 2. Roll Coating

For 2K solvent-borne wood lines, pick the hardener by drying speed, film hardness and finish target. For 1K baking lines — the more common roll-coating case — match a blocked isocyanate to the oven profile: DXB-3370G (Solid 70.0±2.0%; valid NCO 7.5±0.5%; deblock 80–100°C) suits lower-temperature ovens, while higher-temperature blocked grades fit hotter baking profiles.

3. Brush Coating

Brushing sets the window through open time and pot life: the system needs enough wet edge to avoid brush marks, yet still cure to the target hardness, so a controllable reactivity matters more here than the isocyanate family. The chemistry is then set by the system — aromatic polyisocyanates for indoor wood, HDI-based aliphatic grades for clear or colour-sensitive systems where yellowing resistance is required. 4. Dip Coating

If the system is separately heading in a waterborne, low-VOC direction, a low-viscosity water-dispersible HDI grade such as WD-8780 (Solid 80.0±2.0%; NCO 15.0±1%; viscosity 300±200 cps) can be evaluated, with pot life and bath stability validated by lab testing.
