Specifications are based on Dongsen’s current approved product data source.
Confirmed Application
MF-77 can be used as the isocyanate hardener / crosslinker component in interior wood and furniture coating formulations where high compatibility and a gloss-finish direction are required.
Internal application evidence also supports compatibility testing with acrylic and nitrocellulose formulation components.
Dongsen is a raw-material / curing-agent / crosslinker supplier. Dongsen supplies the isocyanate hardener, not a finished paint or coating.
Suggested Application Directions
Ink and adhesive formulation contexts are also present in internal application evidence. For reference only. Product-specific technical validation is required before adopting MF-77 for a specific formulation or end-use sector.
When to Consider MF-77
Consider MF-77 when developing an interior wood or furniture coating formulation where TDI-trimer chemistry, high compatibility and a gloss-finish direction match the formulation requirement. Refer to Technical Data for the confirmed numeric specifications.
Confirmed Selection Signals
MF-77 is positioned around high compatibility, acrylic compatibility and gloss-finish applications. Internal testing also showed clear mixing behaviour in the tested acrylic, nitrocellulose and xylene systems.
Application Fit
The confirmed application context is interior wood and furniture coatings. MF-77 is an aromatic TDI-based hardener and should be positioned for interior applications rather than weathering-focused applications.
Related Grade Directions
MF-55 may be reviewed for a matte-finish direction. HDX-960E may be reviewed for another TDI-trimer gloss / acrylic-compatible selection direction.

Contact Dongsen when you need to match the grade to a specific resin system, gloss target or formulation working requirement.
Compatibility Testing
In internal testing, MF-77 formed clear, readily blendable mixtures with an acrylic resin at a 2:1 hardener-to-resin ratio and with a nitrocellulose system at a 2:1:2 hardener-to-nitrocellulose-to-butyl-acetate ratio. MF-77 also remained clear after dilution with xylene at 1:3.3 under the tested conditions.
Working Window
In the tested nitrocellulose system, MF-77 showed a controlled viscosity rise, supporting a more manageable formulation working window under those test conditions.
Spray-Panel Appearance
On a black-walnut veneer panel with three applied coats, internal testing showed a clear coating film with well-defined wood grain and strong visual clarity.
Internal test results are formulation- and condition-dependent and should not be interpreted as guaranteed universal performance. Product-specific validation is recommended for each formulation.
Is an MF-77 Technical Data Sheet available for public download?
Public-document publication status is currently under review. Contact Dongsen technical support for the current MF-77 documentation status.
What type of isocyanate hardener is MF-77?
MF-77 is an aromatic TDI trimer polyisocyanate hardener.
What is the main selection characteristic of MF-77?
MF-77 is positioned for high compatibility and gloss-finish applications, with confirmed acrylic compatibility and internal compatibility evidence in acrylic, nitrocellulose and xylene test systems.
Where is MF-77 primarily positioned?
MF-77 is primarily positioned for interior wood and furniture coating formulations. As an aromatic TDI-based grade, it should not be positioned as a weathering or low-yellowing hardener.
Which related grade may be considered for a matte-finish direction?
MF-55 may be reviewed where a high-compatibility TDI trimer with a matte-finish direction is required.
Can MF-77 also be evaluated for ink or adhesive formulations?
Internal application evidence includes ink and adhesive formulation contexts. These directions require product-specific technical validation and are not currently mapped as confirmed Dongsen Application Categories for MF-77.
